What are the most common deficiencies?
Vitamins are split into two categories: the ones that dissolve in water, known as water-soluble (vitamins B and C), and fat-soluble ones that dissolve in fat (vitamins A, D, E and K). Vitamins, indispensable for your good health and for your body to work well, are assimilated through food, even though some of them can be synthesized by the body itself. Deficiency can occur for various reasons and be seen through a host of signs: fatigue, muscle weakness, digestive disorders, rashes, joint pain and even psychological and neurological disorders. It’s vital to take action whenever you notice a vitamin deficiency to ensure symptoms don’t get worse. If changing your diet isn’t enough, you may think about a supplement, such as intravenous vitamin injections. Here, at YuBoost, we propose several IV therapies based on vitamins B, C, B12, minerals (zinc, magnesium) and antioxidants (glutathione) to help restore your wellness quickly and relieve your symptoms effectively. We make a point of ensuring your treatment takes place under the best possible conditions, by offering to carry out the injection in your own home, in your workplace or in your hotel room. Our team of qualified nurses is specialized in vitamin injections and home care.
Vitamin B and C deficiency
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) deficiency is one of the most common vitamin B deficiencies. This often impacts vegetarians and vegans as a result of their diet that’s poor or totally lacking in products of animal origin: vitamin B12 is mainly found in meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, as well as dairy products. More generally-speaking, people on proton-pump inhibitor treatment are more vulnerable to a vitamin B deficiency. Although vitamin C deficiencies are very rare today in Western countries, they can however be felt by people whose diet is poor in fresh fruit and vegetables, who are smokers or who are exposed to ‘passive smoking’ over the long term, as well as in people who abuse drugs or alcohol. A vitamin C deficiency can also be brought on with age, not enough exposure to the sun, genetic factors and certain diseases (immunodeficiency, diabetes, inflammatory disorders, Covid-19).
Vitamin A, D, E or K deficiency
Vitamin D deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies in the Northern hemisphere. It occurs in particular during the winter period as people don’t get enough exposure to the sun; it’s the sun’s rays that ensure the body synthesizes vitamin D. Vitamin A, D and K deficiencies are also often caused by poor lipid absorption or a low-fat diet. The existence of liver disorders can also lead to a vitamin A deficiency, as this vitamin is mainly stored by the liver.
Mineral and nutrient deficiencies
Various mineral and nutrient deficiencies can also occur such as zinc, magnesium, iron or calcium deficiency. Just like for vitamins, these deficiencies can have consequences on your physical and mental health: change in sleep, stress, anxiety, fatigue, dizziness, dry skin, cramps, etc. To help you address the most common deficiencies, our Myers’ Cocktail, Recovery and All Inclusive IV therapies contain magnesium and our Immunity, Super Immunity and All Inclusive injections contain zinc.
